Kollin Johannsen (bass/guitar), Justin Wagner (keys/vox), Adam Castilla (guitar/vox), and Maya Tuttle (drums/vox) make up the Orange County four-some, who came together in the off-hours of a film production warehouse.  They developed a powerful, harmonic, and frequently dancey sound, with all four members singing and swapping a range of instruments.By spring, they’d finished a catchy dance/pop debut EP (recorded by Carlos De La Garza of Music Friends Studios), were named “Best New Band” by the publication OC Weekly (“Orange County is home to a lot of promising young bands seemingly poised to make the ever-elusive next step in their careers, but none has developed so much promise and poise in such a short time as the Colourist”), had a self-designed band t-shirt available in PacSun stores nationwide, and had finished a tour of the southwestern US, ending their runwith a packed show at Bamboozle. They also received OC Music Award nominations in 3 categories: “Best Song” (“Oh Goodbye”), “Best New Artist,”and “Best Live Band.”

Recording again with producer Carlos De La Garza (Neon Trees)  the Colourist’s highly-anticipated sophomore EP has been slated for asummer release
